In Washington’s 4-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Friday night, the goalie known around these parts as The Great Deceiver — Michal Neuvirth — was wearing a new set of razor-sharp Vaughn V5 7800 pads and gloves.

After wearing a red-based set of Vaughn V4 7600 pads with the “Pulse” graphic for the majority of the season, Neuvirth has upgraded to white-based V5 7800 set. What makes these stand out are the matching red outer rolls that frame the pads, adding a very nice accent to the entire set.

From watching the game, it also looks like he has a new white Vaughn chest protector. We were able to pick up the fact that the throat protection that sticks out above the jersey collar is very white, with no sweat stains. Please note that this is not confirmed, but the vibrant white added another nice accent to his overall set.

Great work as usual by Mathew (@Mash_Designs) with these templates, and you can expect the Capitals will have tougher decisions on who to start in goal moving forward. Do they stick with Neuvirth after this win over Montreal, or do they roll with Tomas Vokoun tomorrow against Toronto?
